Needing a little assistance.
Alright, I may as well start off by saying I'm pretty newb. I can kill things in PvE and that's about it. I don't know the ins and outs of GW. My friend suggested I come here, and read the "Warriors in PvE" guide, and set-up myself with the "God-Mode" template. So, I did. It works out nice, and it helped me through Abaddon's Mouth, Mission. I guess it would help to mention, I tend to just play with my Heroes and some Henchmen. I've run into a lot of jerks in GW.
I read the entire Article (side from all the Builds) of the "Warriors in PvE." However, some things are still unclear to me. I'm using an Ele Sword, and it's +15% Dmg while above 50% Health, along with 20/20 Sundering. What's better for this type of Build, the Sundering, or a Vampiric? Please note, I can't really afford to have two nice Swords to swap between. I already sold what Miniatures I had got lucky with, and I don't really know how to farm places. Also, my shield is very basic. It's +16 armor, Req 9 Str and Phys -2 in a Stance. Which is okay I guess, since Flail is a Stance. However, what would be a better Shield for not such an exorbitant amount of Gold? Also, I remade my armor, having since read the aforementioned Guide. My Helmet is +1 Swords + 1 Minor Swords, so it's +2 total. My Chest has a -3 Phys Dmg. My boots are +1 Str, and my Gloves are +50 Health. I was told I could add a Survivors Insignia on top of my current additions, if so, does it help? My Armor is Infused.
I noted the said Guides "Aggro" techniques, and they've helped me tremendously. My next question is, what 3 Heroes are good choices? Or is it dependant upon my current Area? (Is there a Guide I can be pointed to, for Hero Selection, and Builds?) Right now, I still need to complete Hells Precipice.
Also, this is isn't really relevant, nor pertinent, but my Character was made in August of 2005. I stopped playing GW around January '06, and I just got back into it about two weeks ago. Which is why I'm a newb to GW still.
Anyway, thanks for any assistance I may be able to yield.

Go for vamp on the sword. Sundering is good, but not on swords, daggers, or any weapon with a low max damage.
The shield is fine. You can add a handle aswell - health +30 tend to be the best ones. They should be relatively cheap. Even if it is a bit more than you want to pay for it, you can just buy a +29, which tends to be a LOT cheaper - 1 health has only saved me once in my 3.5 years of GW, and that was only when I was mucking around with some farming build.
Survivor gives more health, which is obviously a good thing. They tend to be expensive so don't worry too much about getting them. Brawler/Sentry is also a good idea, and is a lot cheaper.
As for the heroes - http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10292641

Alright. Your words have taught me well so far, so I shall follow them. I'll look into the Grips for Shields. Are +9 Str Shields more expensive than, say the same Shield but a +10 or more? The Shield I'm using (IIRC) is a Tower, which doesn't flow well with my Ele Sword. When I get the extra money, I may buy one I think would look nice with it. Then get the +29-30 Health for it. I already do have a Survivors from venturing around Cantha, getting what I needed for the Build. I just wasn't sure about it. Thanks for more help. I'll be sure to read through that Hero Guide when I get the Chance to.
BTW, your Avatar is pretty nice =p.

as for the heroes, it helps to bring a necro bomber in a exploitable corpse area
Heres a sample build
Death 12+2
Soul 12+1
Blood3+1
[Jagged Bones][Animate Bone Minions][Animate Bone Horror][Blood of the master][Putrid Bile][Signet of lost souls][OPTIONAL][OPTIONAL/REZ]

Vamp should work for weapon.
If you have some money get a +30hp and the stance dmg removal, IMO that's the best shield.
As for heroes, Sabway is great, but I don't normally use the SS one, MM and N/Ri healer and for you a [Broad Head Arrow] Ranger or a [Searing Flames] Elementalist should help tremendously

@talisk - -5/20% is not the best shield. It sucks. Expensive also.

Hmm... I guess you're right, the stance one would be better.
Thanks for pointing that out

Theoretically, the +10AL vs ___ type of damage is the best, but in PvE, and your apparent lack of funds to purchase 8 different shields, I would stick with a -2 / Stance.
As for insignias on your armor, survivors insignias are far inferior to + armor-level insignias in PvE, as it allows you to soak up damage, so that your monks' energy stays up nice and high. This is a very common mis-conception because although having more health may save you when you're on the brink of death, and your monk is running up to save you; that extra 35 damage can probably be reduced from the + armor you have.
As Marty said, sundering modifications are bad on a sword, as they have a low max damage 15-22 compared to say, a hammer (19-35) or a scythe (9-41); your increase in damage will not be worth it. I would highly suggest getting two or even three swords, vampiric, zealous and ebon/shocking/fiery respectively. This would mean that in-between brawls, you won't be sitting on your vampiric sword or zealous sword, slowly degenerating either your health or energy.
There are many awesome Hero setups that you can run, which can be found in the Heroes & AI section. Hope I helped, and good luck with your adventures! ^^

You could just some some random white drop if all you wanted to do was lose the degen.

with a +10armor vs ___ type of damage, you get an additional 26 armor from your shield if you meet the shield requirement or 18 if you do not meet it but i personally like -5/20 shields for pve more and -10armor vs ___ type for pvp because you won't know what type of attacks different monsters have whereas you know in pvp, a bow = piercing, a hammer = blunt etc.
sabway , as everyone know it as , is a 3 necro hero setup. sabway is considered one of the best if not the best hero setup because you require little to no micro-ing ( which is to control the hero to do something ). its not a must to have it but if you're good at micro-ing which not many are ( cus if you focus to micro your hero, you might forget about yourself ), you can get other hero setups. i use sabway almost all the time because i want to focus on the game and my character, not my heros so yeah.

There are great items out there going for peanuts. There are even more great items rotting away in people's storage boxes. Here's a list of shields available in game. You might want to chect it out in order to find some nice and cheap shields there.
Oh and, about that Tower shield not flowing well with you Ele sword - nothing flows well with that abomination. Get yourself a real warrior's weapon made of steel, not fairy dust.

Thanks for the additional Hero info. I haven't had the Time yet to read through the entire Article I was supplied with. Which is about this "sabway" setup, I believe.

If I could sell it, that would help. I would rather have another Sword, it looks weird. About the Shield, I was given one by a Guild Mate. It's a green Deldrimor Shield, and since it's Str requirement, that works out.
I went through the entire Sword list on GWW, and these are a few of the ones I like.
Asuran Sword http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Asuran_Sword
Deldrimor Sword http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Deldrimor_Sword
Oni Blade http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Oni_Blade
I couldn't really find any current posts Buying/Selling/PCing these Swords. I suppose not everyone shares the same tastes as me. However, I did find a Legendary Sword [which I think is neat], and if I can afford his price, will subsequently be buying it.
Thanks for your guys' input. I've already started enjoying GW more, since I can take more advantage of my Warrior.
